Jan Paukert, the famous delicatessen from the First Republic was the inventor of the classic Czech open-faced sandwich. His customers commonly included presidents and various royalty.
After 1989, operators of the deli tried to resume building the brand connected with the Czech national avenue. Unfortunately, they ran into significant trouble.
Natland revived the brand and began a pilot operation of the Jan Paukert bistro in the Karlin district of Prague. This new project brought Czech delicacies and gastronomy into the 21st century.
