Hamburg-based Financialright Claims GmBH, which the investment group Natland joined more than a year ago and which is one of the market leaders in the provision of services specialising in the recovery of claims and debts, particularly in class action cases, has new management. Tomas Suda has been appointed Managing Director with effect from mid-October 2024.
Tomáš Suda is a graduate of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics and the Faculty of Law of Charles University, and holds an MA in Economics from the University of Kansas and an MBA from Harvard Business School in Boston. He gained experience as a lawyer, then as a consultant at McKinsey, before joining the London-based hedge fund Cheyne Capital Management for ten years. His domain was investments in the real estate sector. After returning from London, he focused on M&A transactions and his own investments and business.
He will replace Radek Šnábl, who initially started the FRC’s cooperation within the group and is now returning to his own work projects in the field of consultancy and litigation and personal activities, especially in the world of sport.
The FRC is the main body that defends the interests of around 160,000 truck owners across Europe in cooperation with law firms. From 1997 until 2016, they bought trucks from leading European manufacturers such as Daimler, MAN, Volvo/Renault, DAF, Iveco and Scania, which, however, entered into cartel agreements to increase the prices of their products sold in Europe across the board. Their misconduct was also found by the European Commission. To date, the victims have pursued their claims, totalling around €1.4 billion, through the FRC in the German courts.
