A new stage awaits the Trutnov company KARA, whose CEO and majority owner is its founder Zdeněk Rinth. After Zdeněk Rinth, with the support of the Natland investment group, got the company back on its feet in 2022 and restarted its operations, he has now decided that it is necessary to address its further development. Together with the consulting company Roklen, he started the process of selling the entire company, where the Natland Group holds a minority stake.
“I returned to my business years ago to save it, which my team and Natland did. We successfully got Kara back into shape, polished the brand, got rid of the covide liabilities and more. Now it is necessary to move on, to come up with a new strategy, vision, ambitions for development, and new management has to come up with it, because it is a matter of another five to seven years,” explains Zdeněk Rinth, who has linked his life with the KARA brand, the reasons for his decision.
“Our main role was in the formal rescue and reorganisation process, working with management to restore operations and re-establish business relationships. This was all very closely linked to Mr Rinthe. I always say that it is possible to rescue if you have a good brand, team and/or product, here everything came together optimally. We only stayed as a minority shareholder and we don’t have the expertise to further develop the company ourselves, to give it more than Mr. Rinth. Our know-how is elsewhere,” said Tomáš Raška, founder of the Natland investment group, adding that the cooperation with Mr. Rinth definitely does not end here. “We will continue to use his experience, knowledge, insight and drive together in other projects or rescuing companies.”
The traditional Czech brand with a 70-year history has a huge potential not only in the Czech market but in the context of the entire Central European region. That is why the goal is to find a strong partner who will not only continue to manage and develop the company, but also set a successful strategy for several years ahead and ensure constant stability for the future.
Currently, KARA has 32 stores across the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and over the last three years, after the rescue, the company’s results, or profit, have ranged between CZK 40 and 50 million. KARA benefits not only from its historical sales experience and relationships with suppliers or shopping centres, but also from a stable customer base and a range of services that are standard alongside its own products. These include a cleaning service, a complete service including repair or replacement of individual parts and care of the products even after the customer takes them home.
