AnyCare is another project in Natland’s portfolio of healthcare projects. It is backed by the same people who develop diagnostic and IT products also under the Aiolite banner, and with whom they are trying to push the boundaries of medical diagnostics and modern medicine using artificial intelligence. Michal Krobot, co-founder of AnyCare, in his answers to “The Best Questions” claims that AnyCare is bringing the healthcare of the future to the Czech Republic and would like to accelerate the advent of the era of telemedicine and significantly greater digitalization of healthcare.
The biggest highlight of AnyCare in recent months?
I had to convince top Israeli scientists, who invented the best telemedicine device in the world, that my colleague Jakub Schůrk and I would be the best partner for them on the Czech market. We succeeded. Czech patients will soon have a service that saves them time, allows them to be examined remotely from their beds, and at the same time provides them with medical care 24 hours a day.
The three most important things that AnyCare can’t do without?
A great team that believes we are at the birth of something great. First-class technology. And the enthusiasm and courage to convince the inflexible Czech healthcare system that telemedicine is the music of the future. Or rather, one of the few options to solve the system’s congestion and reduce healthcare costs.
Best product?
TytoCare device for home examination. Anyone can use it to examine themselves. It guides everyone through the steps in detail and the artificial intelligence checks whether the images and measurements are of the desired quality and even from the desired angle. We showed the results to Czech doctors and they were blown away by how accurate the images were.
The greatest potential for further development?
Rather the biggest challenge. Convincing insurance companies and doctors to give telemedicine a chance in the Czech Republic. Our device is already commonly used by patients in Israel, the USA, Switzerland and about 30 other countries. With the support of their health insurance companies and doctors. We hope that it will soon become a reality here too.
The most tempting place you want to expand to, where you want to be present and why?
Right here in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In the world TytoCare is already known, here we have to start from scratch. Technology in medicine still scares a lot of people, but we can’t do without technology. Our next project, Aiolite, a diagnostic and IT company, deals with the processing of medical data and metabolic measurements using artificial intelligence, which we bring directly to the patient’s bedside in the hospital. What artificial intelligence can analyse from data collected from blood or urine is many times beyond the capabilities of a human, even a first-class expert. Within Aiolite, we already have global ambitions and are preparing to expand pilot deployments in partner hospitals as well as entering the US market.
The most important goal you are aiming for in terms of business?
We want to roll out our service to both households and social care providers, for whom it can make things much easier. And also to businesses, because AnyCare is also a great employee benefit that the whole family can use.
The biggest challenges, or what do you want to work on?
Implementation of new diagnostic methods in healthcare. We are monitoring the global market and working on an integration system that will bring together innovative and functional solutions for different healthcare providers.
The best thing about AnyCare, or what do you enjoy most about the company and why do you enjoy it?
I’ve been into technology since I was a kid. I like to be first at things, I like to look around the corner and think in a broader perspective. The digitization of healthcare and telemedicine offer incredible opportunities and advancements. I enjoy exploring what else is possible and coming up with things that will be useful to society.
The most important pattern? A company, a person, a start-up?
In terms of hard work, he’s definitely my dad. But I don’t have any other specific role model, in general I like to have people around me who help me change and broaden my point of view, and sometimes give me feedback. I have to mention my girlfriend who gave birth to my daughter a few weeks ago.
